Community meetings are held the second Monday of every month, 7:00 PM, at Hanover Presbyterian Church,  1801 N Jefferson St, Wilmington, DE 19802 (18th & Baynard) enter at middle red door on Jefferson street.  Community meetings are NOT held in January or August.  


The Brandywine Village Civic Association works for the benefit of it's residents.


  •   Brandywine Village Civic Association Mission Statement
    *To provide a forum for all individuals interested in the community of Brandywine Village, Wilmington, De.
    *To act as a conduit to help facilitate the improvement of the quality of life for Brandywine Village by encouraging community awareness, participation, and civic pride.
    *To facilitate discussion and coordinate with other groups for on-going and new projects of interest and mutual benefit to the community (Community Awareness, Business Development, Capital Improvements, Safety Improvement, Beautification Projects, Community Events).
    *To communicate with the Brandywine Village Civic Association Directors, Officers and others in County, State, and National governmental bodies, concerning of the community.
    *To focus on the interests of the community as they relate to its future within Brandywine Village and adjacent communities (Washington Heights, The Triangle. Old Brandywine Village).   


  • The Brandywine Village Civic Association meets monthly and possibly more often when needed to organize community events such as community yard sales, "popup" play-ground, Cleanup days (trash pickup with "grab-its'), potlucks, fundraisers, meet-and-greet with city of Wilmington officials such as police chief, parks and recreations, licensing and inspections, etc.. The Brandywine Civic Association acts as the "voice" of the community when dealing with the City of Wilmington when the city makes funding available to local civic associations for neighborhood improvement. The Brandywine Village Civic Association makes arrangements to have city officials such as Police Chief, Mayor, License and Inspections, Chamber of Commerce, Parks and Recreation officials to give presentations at venues which accommodate 100 or more residents. The presentations are typically open to adjacent community members of Washington Heights and The Triangle. The Brandywine Village Civic Association meets to help organize committees for Community Awareness, Business Development, Capital Improvements, Safety Improvement, Beautification Projects, Community Events. The Committees report back to the Directors of Brandywine Civic Association and further development of committee activities is promulgated. The Brandywine Village Civic Association holds meetings to elect Officers for the association which can involve all residents of the Brandywine Village.  


"BRANDYWINE VILLAGE"

The Brandywine Village Civic Association serves and is organized by and managed by residents in the area of Wilmington, Delaware known as "Brandywine Village".

The "Brandywine Village" as defined by this organization is an area contained within the borders of the city streets as listed below.

  • The Brandywine Village is bordered on it's East side by the segmant of Concord Pike located between Washington Steet and Market Street
  • The Brandywine Village is bordered on it's South side by the segmant of Market street between Concord Pike and Glen Ave.
  • The Brandywine Village is bordered to it's South/West side by the segmant of Glen Ave between Market Street and 16th street
  • The Brandywine Village is bordered on it's West side by the Segmant of 16th street between Glen Ave and Washington Street
  • The Brandywine Village is bordered on it's North side by the segmant of Washington Street Between 16th Street Street and Concord Pike.

The Brandywine Village Civic Association advocates on behalf of all residents of Brandywine Village, Wilmington, Delaware; and as such, relies on the participation of EVERYONE.  Please attend meetings, and participate as often as you are able to ensure that you are represented.  


We will also be looking for volunteers for committees such as Communications Committee, Safety Committee, Events Committee, Beautification, to name a few.
